Chimney weathering and leadwork

Chimneys and roof abutments are frequent sources of water ingress. Good leadwork needs the right detail, laps and fixing method, while masonry around a chimney must also be kept weather-tight.

CRS roofing work

Lead flashings

Repair or renewal of leadwork at chimneys, abutments and selected roof details where the existing flashing has failed or been poorly installed.

Chimney pointing

Open joints and deteriorated mortar can allow water into the stack. Repointing can be included where the masonry is otherwise suitable.

Chimney reduction or removal

Where a redundant stack is to be removed or reduced, the work needs to be planned around structure, weathering and any applicable permissions or building requirements.

Integrated roof repairs

Chimney and leadwork issues are often best dealt with as part of the surrounding roof repair so the full water path is addressed.
